Dutch charging network Fastned partners with Nissan to offer free fast charging

Nissan LEAF EV Fast Charger

Dutch charging network operator Fastned has partnered with Nissan to offer two years of free fast charging to new LEAF buyers.

The EV Carefree package, which will be standard with new LEAFs sold in the Netherlands, includes a replacement vehicle for holidays, a service package and a home charging system, as well as two years of unlimited fast charging at Fastned stations.

Fastned operates a network of dual-standard DC fast charging stations at highway locations – 38 are now operational, and 50 are scheduled to be installed by the end of 2015.

“In fact, it’s quite logical to offer unlimited fast charging with electric cars,” said CEO Michiel Langezaal. “Most people buy mobile phones including a subscription. The same is true for electric driving, people just want to be able to charge quickly and easily without fuss.”
