Mercedes Benz Trucks has added another variant to its eActros portfolio: the Mercedes Benz eActros Lowliner, designed specifically for high-volume transport.
A Lowliner truck is a tractor unit with a particularly low coupling height, enabling the transport of trailers with increased interior volume.
The new eActros Lowliner is based on the overall technological concept of the eActros 600, which has been in series production and in customer operation since late 2024. Customers can now choose from around 40 variants derived from the base vehicle, with different payload and range configurations to meet different customer requirements.
Like the other models in the eActros portfolio, the new Lowliner variant features an in-house-developed electric drive axle comprised of two electric motors and a four-speed transmission. The motors deliver a continuous output of 400 kW and a peak output of 600 kW. The eActros also features an 800-volt electrical architecture and a range of driver assistance systems.
The eActros Lowliner is offered as a 4×2 tractor unit with a 4,000 mm wheelbase, and meets coupling heights and ground clearance comparable to those of diesel trucks. This allows mega- trailers to comply with the legally permitted overall height while providing maximum possible interior height for volume-intensive transport operations.

The new eActros Lowliner is available with either two or three LFP battery packs, each with a capacity of 207 kWh.
The eActros 400 Lowliner, equipped with two battery packs, has an installed battery capacity of 414 kWh. It has a lower vehicle weight and therefore a higher payload—up to 24 metric tons—than the eActros 600 Lowliner, which has three battery packs and a payload of 21 metric tons. The range of the eActros 600 Lowliner is approximately on par with that of the standard eActros 600—approximately 500 km.
The eActros vehicles can charge at up to 400 kW via the standard CCS2 charging port. The eActros Lowliner variants will eventually support megawatt charging (MCS), so an additional MCS charging port can be ordered as an option.
“The eActros Lowliner marks the next step in the expansion of our battery-electric long-haul portfolio,” said Achim Puchert, CEO of Mercedes Benz Trucks. “It is designed for high-volume transport with mega-trailers and is based on the proven technology of the eActros 600.”
The new model will be available to order starting in the third quarter of 2026 in the EU30 markets and additional markets, and series production is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2027 at the company’s Wörth am Rhein plant.
Daimler Truck recently joined Traton and Volvo Group to file a motion to defend the Trump EPA’s repeal of the 2009 endangerment finding and the repeal of all motor vehicle climate standards. The truckmakers have also lobbied the European Union to water down emissions rules designed to encourage production of electric trucks.
