Smart charging company NewMotion, which is a member of the Shell Group, will partner with Ford to provide charging technology and infrastructure for the car maker’s PHEVs in Europe. Starting this fall, Ford customers will have access to NewMotion’s phone app, charge card, and charging network, including over 118,000 charge points in 30 countries.

“Teaming up with Ford will give us new opportunities to power up the e-mobility revolution. Ford PHEV drivers will gain access to Europe’s largest roaming network via NewMotion, the app, and the charge card,” said Syste Zuidema, NewMotion CEO.

“NewMotion [has] the largest roaming network in Europe,” said Mark McMahon, Ford of Europe’s Manager of Business Development and EV Services. “Together we will offer seamless access to NewMotion’s charging infrastructure for drivers using the new Ford smartphone app, simplifying the user experience for Ford PHEV customers.”
