BAIC

Chinese EV-maker BAIC EV has opened a new R&D center in Detroit. Working with BAIC’s other centers in Silicon Valley and Aachen, Germany, staff at the new facility will develop advanced technologies in motor drives, power electronics and intelligent control.

BAIC plans to use its foothold in the Motor City to introduce advanced EV technology and products to China, and to bring Chinese EV products to the world with the aid of local resources.

“The strategic vision of BAIC EV is set not only on China, but also on the international stage of EVs,” says BAIC EV General Manager Zheng Gang. “In the future, top electric drive systems are bound to support the intelligent and concrete development of our new control technologies.”
