Teradyne to acquire Infineon’s automated test equipment technology

US-based automated test equipment supplier Teradyne has entered into a strategic partnership with German semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies to advance power semiconductor testing.

As part of the relationship, Teradyne will acquire part of Infineon’s automated test equipment team in Regensburg, Germany. This will allow Teradyne to accelerate its progress in the power semiconductor segment while collaborating on new solutions. Infineon will secure continued manufacturing support as well as enhanced flexibility to respond to internal demand, and will benefit from Teradyne’s economies of scale.

“Integrating our experienced workforce with Teradyne will help to accelerate innovation and address the dynamic test challenges in new technologies like silicon carbide and gallium nitride at the scale and flexibility needed by our markets and customers,” said Alexander Gorski, Executive Vice President, Frontend Operations at Infineon.
