T/CCI Manufacturing diversifies product lineup with new electric compressor designs

T/CCI Manufacturing, a maker of compressor technology, including reciprocating, swash plate, wobble plate and variable compressors, is introducing a range of electric compressors for the heavy-duty and mass transport markets.

T/CCI’s new compressors include high-voltage electric designs spanning 15 cc/24 V to 120 cc/850 V, with power ratings from 2 kW to 30 kW. The new 24 V products are designed primarily to cool the interior of a cabin when a vehicle’s engine is turned off, a feature important in the European market, where regulations do not allow truck engines to run overnight.

The high-voltage 400 V to 850 V products are designed to serve a range of EVs, including heavy-duty trucks, buses, transport refrigeration vehicles and automobiles.

The 120 cc/850 V compressor provides battery cooling and A/C for the heavy-duty trucking, bus and railway sectors. T/CCI will also be introducing a compressor designed to handle overvoltage situations.

“Our value proposition to customers in a range of markets around the world is versatility, efficiency, and the ability to customize designs and solutions based on need,” said President Richard Demirjian. “Our low-voltage signals can handle both 12 V and 24 V within the same unit, allowing OEMs that have both European and North American applications to effortlessly maintain their development programs even when voltages vary by market.”

The 24 V model will be available in the spring of 2021, and the larger 850 V will hit the market this fall. T/CCI is planning for a range of higher-displacement compressors, including models for the automotive market. Specific details are to be released later this year.
