Mersen has introduced a new generation of high-performance fuses that combine AC and DC ratings in a single compact housing—eliminating the need for separate fuse types across AC and DC power stages in the same installation. The company explains that this simplifies procurement and space requirements for equipment manufacturers building inverters, solid-state transformers, charging stations and energy storage systems that handle both current types.
The range covers standard AC, aR and fast-acting fuse configurations. Two new sizes extend coverage to DC applications up to 1,000 V and 1,000 A, addressing higher-voltage DC bus architectures in EV charging infrastructure and grid-scale storage.
The fuses are manufactured on automated lines, and carry IEC, UL, CCC, RoHS, REACH and WEEE compliance. Testing is conducted in Mersen’s UL-recognized in-house laboratory and external specialist institutes. Mersen says it developed the products in close collaboration with customers in energy storage, EV charging and data center markets.
Mersen also offers simulation data that enable customers to model fuse behavior in their specific applications before selecting products.
