SBRS, a subsidiary of oil giant Shell, has launched a new DC charging solution, purpose-built for heavy-duty EV fleets.
The Shell Recharge PowerPack 500 is an all-in-one EV charger that will be available to European fleets. It features a liquid-cooled power module. It’s engineered for demanding duty cycles, and boasts a projected service life of over 10 years.
Complementary products and services include PowerOS, Shell’s charge point management system; PowerCare, a service and maintenance contract; and the Shell Card, a fleet fueling payment system.

The charging system enables fleets to start with one power unit with two DC outputs and scale up to six outputs with a total of up to 500 Kw of continuous charging power, without replacing core infrastructure or redesigning depots.
Bizarrely, the oil giant has published a new report, Electric Trucking: From cost barrier to competitive advantage, that explains how fleets can achieve up to 10% lower TCO by switching from diesel to electric heavy-duty trucks.
