Nine governments commit to one or more goals of The Climate Group’s ZEV fleet pledge

International non-profit The Climate Group has issued a Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) pledge calling on government organizations to shift 100% of their owned or leased fleets to ZEVs.

The Climate Group’s ZEV pledge calls for buses and two- and three-wheelers to be converted by 2030, light-duty vehicles by 2035, and medium- and heavy-duty vehicles by 2040.

As of December 2021, The Climate Group reported that nine governments have committed to one or more of these goals. The state of Jalisco in Mexico has committed to electrifying its buses by 2030. California has committed to converting buses, light-duty vehicles, and medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.

The Climate Group reports that no government organization has committed to the two and three-wheeler ZEV goal.
