Mitsubishi to launch Power BOX power feeder for its EVs

Mitsubishi’s new Power BOX power feeder allows you to draw standard AC power from an i-MiEV’s battery.

Here’s another couple of handy uses for your new EV – powering your array of TVs, iPads and phones while getting away from it all in the wilderness, or powering your household appliances during an unexpected power outage. Mitsubishi’s new Power BOX power feeder allows you to draw standard AC power from an i-MiEV’s battery.

The Power BOX adapter plugs into the i-MiEV's quick charging connector, and when connected to a fully-charged 16-kWh battery, can supply 1500 watts for between five and six hours. Just keep an eye on your charge level – you don’t want to get stranded in the wilderness and have to be towed home by some guy in a Hummer.

The Power BOX will be available as a dealer option in Japan starting in April.
