Dongfeng Fukang ES600 uses CATL’s battery swap solution

Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL) and Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën Automobile (DPCA) are collaborating on a battery swap project that uses CATL’s EVOGO system.

The EVOGO modular battery swap solution will be incorporated into the Dongfeng Fukang ES600 electric sedan (which appears to be an electric version of the Peugeot 408). The EVOGO battery swap system is already being used in the FAW Bestune NAT and Aiways U5.

Dongfeng Fukang ES600 sedans equipped with EVOGO are currently undergoing a series of compatibility tests. They’re expected to be sold to ridesharing companies at some point in November.

Li Yang, Secretary of the Party Committee of DPCA in charge of marketing, said, “DPCA and CATL will cooperate in technology, resources, services, and many other fields to optimize the utilization of resources of both parties.”

Chen Weifeng, GM of CATL subsidiary CAES believes that the EVOGO portfolio of models will continue to grow. “We are glad that a new member has joined the EVOGO family, which will give more choices to our consumers. In the future, we will establish cooperation with more brands to jointly develop more models and continue to improve the convenience of EVOGO battery swapping services.”
