Smart charging specialist IoTecha has developed a verticalized platform including hardware, embedded software and cloud services, that’s designed to power turnkey EV charging solutions. The IoT.ON platform was recently upgraded with a new processor (the brain of a Smart Charger) that includes the STMicroelectronics STM32MP1 MPU along with the ST33 Trusted Platform Module.
Key features of IoTecha’s IoT.ON platform include:
- Proven interoperability with major EV manufacturers, including support of the latest ISO 15118 standard
- Unidirectional and bidirectional (V2X) power transfer for both AC and DC applications
- State-of-the-art cybersecurity at the hardware and software levels, including support of Trusted Platform Module and Multi-PKI, as well as rigorous control of the component supply chain
- Pre-tested integration with Charge Point Operators through the OCPP protocol
IoTecha is already working to commercialize bidirectional charging applications enable by the IoT.ON platfrom.
IoTecha recently collaborated with Hager Energy to develop a DC home power station, the S10 Compact series, for the first Volkswagen ID. Models, that supports bidirectional charging.
IoT.ON is designed to enable EVs and smart charging infrastructure to deliver grid stabilization and ancillary grid services. IoTecha has worked with BorgWarner and Nuvve to integrate its DC charging controller into bidirectional school bus projects across the country.
At CES 2024, together with Mobilize, Software République (Orange, Renault Group, STMicroelectronics, and Thales), and Lacroix, IoTecha will showcase a smart, connected bidirectional AC charger called the Mobilize Powerbox EV charger, which will allow EV drivers to send electricity back to the grid.
