Bosch has secured a major electric motor supply agreement with Mercedes-Benz, covering motors for multiple performance classes in the premium manufacturer’s next generation of electric drives. Financial terms and volume weren’t disclosed. The partnership runs into the 2030s.
The motors achieve up to 98% efficiency, enabled by what Bosch describes as a new winding technology and rotor oil cooling—the latter handling heat dissipation during sustained high-power operation. A scalable platform architecture lets Bosch vary the motor’s axial length depending on the required power output and adapt it to different axle configurations without a ground-up redesign for each application. Bosch says the combination produces a compact design that reduces weight, installation space, and system cost.

The order is part of a broader run of wins for Bosch in electromobility: the company acquired more than 70 customer projects globally in 2025 and currently supplies more than 50 automakers worldwide. It plans to produce more than seven million EV components in 2026—about seven electric motors per minute off global production lines today.
Beyond individual motors, Bosch now offers X-in-1 integrated drive systems that package the electric motor, power electronics, transmission, and energy management into a single unit. Separate from the Mercedes win, Bosch has a joint venture with Tata Autocomp Systems in India to develop and manufacture e-axles for the Indian market, and supplies more than 30 customers in China.
“We deliver solutions for electric driving to all markets worldwide,” said Markus Heyn, Chairman of Bosch Mobility.
