New York FedEx service provider adds Workhorse electric van to fleet

Workhorse Electric Truck E-GEN 3

Workhorse Group (NASDAQ: WKHS) has announced that Colonial Routes, in Farmington, New York, is the first FedEx independent service provider (ISP) in the country to participate in Workhorse’s new nationwide program for FedEx Ground delivery vehicles.

Workhorse’s new FedEx Ground vehicle program is now open to contractors nationwide. The company’s E-GEN and E-100 vans are configured to match the current shelving, specifications and workflow that FedEx Ground delivery drivers use. Ryder System, Workhorse’s exclusive maintenance provider, will support the EVs as part of the Ryder SelectCare fleet maintenance portfolio.

The Workhorse E-100 all-electric truck achieves 37.5 MPGe fuel efficiency, and has a range of approximately 100 miles. The Workhorse E-GEN extended-range step van achieves 40 MPGe fuel efficiency, and has an electric range of 60 miles. Both vehicles use Panasonic battery packs and incorporate Workhorse’s proprietary Metron telematics system.

“Our mission has been to create not merely the best electric vehicles for fleets, but the best overall vehicles for their unique needs, and we’ve found that in the E-GEN and E-100,” said Stephen Burns, CEO of Workhorse.
