New Scania battery lab to include Keysight’s battery test system

Keysight Technologies, a test and measurement technology company, has announced that bus and truck manufacturer Scania has selected products from its Scienlab Battery Test System for Scania’s new battery lab in Södertälje, Sweden. The lab will add to Scania’s existing climatic-chamber facility for battery pack testing.

The Keysight products Scania chose include: the Scienlab Battery Test System for cells, modules and packs; the Energy Storage Discover Software; and a web-based platform for workflow and data management called PathWave Lab Operations for Battery Test.

According to Keysight, “This solution enables Scania to optimize planning and coordination of its battery laboratory by managing all resources, including lab personnel, test systems and devices under test.”

The new battery lab measures 1,000 square meters in size, and has three test halls for battery cells, modules and packs. The lab will test battery performance and lifespan in temperatures ranging from -40° C to 70° C.
