Schenker France orders 66 Renault electric trucks, including 6 semi-tractors

Schenker France, the French branch of global logistics firm DB Schenker, will soon take delivery of up to 66 electric trucks from French manufacturer Renault Trucks—the company’s most significant order of electric trucks to date.

The order includes 60 16-ton E-Tech D electric rigids and 6 E-Tech T electric tractors—Schenker France’s first battery-powered tractors. This acquisition was made possible thanks to subsidies from the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (Ademe).

Schenker France’s fleet will now include 135 electric trucks, as well as 410 trucks running on hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and 65 vehicles using bio-LNG.

“Our ambition is to play a primary role in low-carbon logistics, and to achieve this we are investing heavily in the right energy mix,” said Frédéric Vallet, Head of Schenker France. “Electric trucks are an integral part of the solution, and I’m very proud of this further step towards achieving our ambitious goals for environmental sustainability.”
