GeniePoint Network will soon have 150 DC fast chargers in the UK

The UK’s ChargePoint Services (not to be confused with the US’s Chargepoint) and the Motor Fuel Group have been working together to install fast charging stations in forecourt (gas station) locations across the UK.  The GeniePoint Network now has over 120 charger sites installed or under construction, and plans to have around 150 50 kW+ chargers operating by early 2019.

The GeniePoint Network is powered by green energy and incorporates built-in energy storage to help balance energy supply and reduce reliance on the electrical grid.

“The GeniePoint Network is the most reliable rapid charging network in the UK,” said ChargePoint Managing Director Alex Bamberg. “We know our 24/7 customer service is outstanding, which gives drivers the confidence to just turn up and charge, safe in the knowledge we’re just a phone call away if they need us.”

“The growth of the electric vehicle market is an important part of the fuel mix going forward,” said Andy Edwards, MFG’s Group Infrastructure Director. “MFG is determined to be at the forefront of this technology, satisfying this growing demand.”
