Wallbox Supernova charger earns Germany’s Eichrecht certification

Wallbox Chargers has announced that its Supernova DC fast charger has been certified as compliant with Germany’s Mess- und Eichgesetz, or Measurement and Calibration Law.

Eichrecht, as it is typically referred to, is Germany’s measurement and calibration legal framework. In the case of EV chargers, it standardizes how charging stations measure and record energy consumption. Such standardization is necessary because every public EV charging station in the country is required to measure the amount of energy transferred to a vehicle with great precision.

The requirements established by the Eichrecht also go well beyond accuracy, addressing the regular calibration of meters, compliance, audits and inspections and transparent billing for the customer.

“Receiving the Eichrecht certification marks a significant step towards Wallbox’s expansion into DC fast charging in one of Europe’s largest EV markets,” the company said.

“Supernova’s Eichrecht certification in Germany underscores the advanced technology and precision engineering behind our DC fast charger and will open doors for Wallbox in Germany and the broader DACH region,” said Enric Asunción, the company’s CEO.
