ABBs digital e-mobility venture, PANION, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) are testing a jointly developed cloud-based solution for real-time management of EV fleets and charging infrastructure. The new PANION EV Charge Planning solution enables operators to monitor energy usage and schedule charging across their fleets.
ABB is developing technical infrastructure to offer a Platform as a Service (PaaS), providing a flexible base for both PANION EV Charge Planning and other software solutions for fleet operators.
The new PANION EV Charge Planning solution combines ABB’s experience in energy management and charging technology with Amazon Web Services’ cloud development experience. The system is designed to offer a scalable, secure and easily customizable software solution, combined with charging hardware, to make EV fleet management more efficient and reliable.
The PANION EV Charge Planning system is currently in beta, and will be fully launched in 2022.
- Charge Planning Algorithm, designed to reduce operating and energy costs while ensuring business continuity
- Charge Station Management, which allows the platform to communicate with charging stations to schedule, execute and adapt charging sessions
- Vehicle Asset Management, which provides real-time telemetry data to the system
- Error Handling and Task Management module, which triggers actionable tasks for tackling unplanned events and errors that require human intervention
