Henkel is bringing two new additions to its EV battery adhesives portfolio at Battery Show Europe 2026 (June 9–11, Messe Stuttgart): Loctite Specialty Tapes, a new range of water-based, low-VOC tape solutions for battery assembly, and Loctite Solve, an AI platform for simulating adhesive formulations without physical prototyping.
The specialty tapes handle bonding, insulation, shielding, protection and thermal management functions in battery assemblies and are designed for fast, consistent production-scale application. The addition extends Henkel’s offering beyond liquid adhesives into tape-based integration—a different approach for certain assembly steps.
Loctite Solve allows engineers to generate and simulate virtual adhesive formulations—including novel chemistries—and build digital twins of adhesive materials to evaluate performance earlier in the design cycle before physical samples are produced. The aim is to reduce development time by moving material qualification decisions upstream.

Henkel is also showing Bonderite functional coatings for dielectric strength and thermal resistance in battery and power electronics components, and thermally triggered debonding-on-demand technologies designed to separate bonded battery components non-destructively for repair, reuse or recycling.
“With the expansion of our portfolio, including specialty tapes, and the integration of digital tools, we offer a truly end-to-end ecosystem that helps our customers innovate faster, reduce risk and unlock new performance levels across the battery lifecycle,” said Frank Kerstan, Head of E-Mobility Europe at Henkel.
