ZF and CATL partner to develop battery-related aftermarket services

German component maker ZF and Chinese battery supplier CATL have signed a partnership agreement to develop new aftermarket services. The agreement will include service networks, battery-related training, connectivity, recycling and reuse. ZF, which currently has more than 10,000 workshop partners in its global aftermarket, will be considered the preferred option in CATL’s service network expansion.

CATL will provide ZF with comprehensive battery training, which will be combined with ZF’s DGUV high-voltage training. The companies also agreed to establish and maintain service standards for the industry, and will work together to develop data connectivity and recycling initiatives.

“The partnership with ZF is an important step towards developing a global comprehensive value chain of batteries,” said Zhou Jia, President of CATL. “With the support of ZF’s worldwide network, we will further enhance our global aftermarket service and continue to deliver customer-driven new energy products to the world.”
