Kia Motors America (KMA) has announced pricing for the Kia Soul EV, which will go on sale this fall in California, Oregon, New York, New Jersey and Maryland. The new EV will be offered in two trims: MSRP for the Base model is $33,700; the Plus model, which adds leather-trimmed heated and ventilated seats, fog lamps and power-folding outside mirrors, will go for $35,700. The introductory lease price is expected to be $249 per month.
Standard features for both trims include navigation, rear camera display, power windows, power driver’s seat, cruise control, and the UVO EV smartphone app, which lets drivers preset charging time and precondition the cabin with remote control of the HVAC system.
The rectilinear runabout sports a 27 kWh air-cooled battery, a 6.6 kW on-board charger and a CHAdeMo 480 v DC fast-charging port. EPA-estimated range is 93 miles, and combined fuel economy is 105 MPGe.

The Soul EV has been honored with an environmental validation by Underwriters Laboratory for its use of bio-based materials, which are found in 23 different interior parts, including the door panels, headliner, seat trim, roof pillars and carpeting.
“With our iconic urban passenger vehicle’s wildly popular style and functionality mated to eco-friendly electric-drive technology that delivers best-in-class range, we’re confident that the Soul EV represents a winning combination,” said KMA Executive VP Michael Sprague.
