Honda Fit EV joins the low-cost lease club

Honda became the latest EV maker to tempt drivers with attractive lease terms, as it lowered the monthly lease price of its Fit EV from $389 to $259 a month for new and existing lessees.

Honda became the latest EV maker to tempt drivers with attractive lease terms, as it lowered the monthly lease price of its Fit EV from $389 to $259 a month for new and existing lessees. The three-year lease requires no down payment and includes unlimited mileage, routine maintenance, collision coverage, and a deal on a Leviton home charging station.

“The Fit EV already is a benchmark electric vehicle with a leading-range rating, fun-to-drive dynamics and excellent packaging,” said Honda VP Steve Center. “Now it’s the only EV on the market with no down payment, unlimited mileage, collision coverage and a free home charging station, giving customers an unprecedented value that only Honda can provide and a compelling reason to get off the barrel and onto the grid.”

The Honda hatchback is still only available in California, Oregon, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island and Connecticut, but the dealer network will expand from 36 to over 200 by the end of June.

The 2013 Honda Fit EV offers combined fuel economy of 118 MPGe and a range of 82 miles, according to the EPA.
