Hino Trucks starts testing and validation of Allison’s 100D e-axle

Hino Trucks has begun testing and validation of Allison Transmission’s eGen Power 100D electric axle, which is designed for heavy-duty EVs.

The eGen Power 100D has a 23,000-pound gross axle weight rating, and is composed of a two-speed gearbox, differential lock functionality and two electric motors. The motors can each generate 454 kW of continuous power and 652 kW of peak combined power.

The company says its network of distributors and dealers will provide training, service and aftermarket support to Hino and its customers.

“The next generation of our eGen Power 100D is now being built at our Auburn Hills, Michigan electric axle development and manufacturing facility,” said Allison Transmission VP Rohan Barua.
