Hillcrest to collaborate with Hercules Electric Mobility on electric powertrain

Inverter and control system technology company Hillcrest Energy Technologies has signed a memorandum of understanding with electric propulsion technology company Hercules Electric Mobility to collaborate on an electric powertrain, which is designed for automotive and marine applications.

Between October of 2022 and March of 2023, the companies will work together to build and test an electric powertrain that includes a Hillcrest 250 kW/800 V inverter.

According to Hillcrest, the companies will “collaborate on a series of configurations using the Hillcrest inverter in the Hercules electric propulsion system to test and work towards the end goal of demonstrating a powertrain containing an optimized Hillcrest inverter.”

“If all milestones are met, Hillcrest and Hercules expect to enter into a definitive commercialization agreement,” says Hillcrest.
