CLEVER, which operates a network of fast charging stations in Denmark, Sweden and Germany, has introduced a new plan that offers unlimited charging for a fixed monthly fee. CLEVER Unlimited includes installation of a home charging station, and unlimited free use of the company’s over 900 public charging points.
The company recently announced an agreement with Volkswagen, whereby Danish car buyers can purchase the CLEVER Unlimited service along with a new VW EV or PHEV.
The price is 299 Danish kroner (about $44) per month for Volkswagen PHEV buyers (Passat GTE or Golf GTE) and 599 kroner per month ($88) for EV drivers (e-up! or e-Golf). Access to the public network only (no home charging station) is available for 199 kroner a month (for PHEVs) or 399 kroner a month (for EVs).
“CLEVER Unlimited is a brand new and attractive mindset about mobility, where everything is included at a fixed monthly fee, and now we can also offer this to Volkswagen,” says CLEVER CEO Casper Kirketerp-Møller. “We believe that the transformation of the transport sector to electricity is going to pick up speed very fast in Europe over the next couple of years, and this is the future.”
“CLEVER has been our partner in charging electric cars the past two years, and this cooperation we are now expanding with CLEVER Unlimited,” says Ulrik Drejsig, CEO, Volkswagen Denmark.
