Accell’s new AxFAST 3202 portable Level 2 charger

Accell is an electronics manufacturer that’s based in Silicon Valley, and also has facilities in Mexico, Malaysia, and China. The company’s new AxFAST 3202 32-amp Level 2 charger is a higher-current version of its 16-amp AxFAST Level 2 charger.

The new AxFAST 3202 offers a maximum charging level of 7.68 kW at 32 amps. It can handle a voltage range of 208-240 volts.

It features a standard SAE J1772 charging plug made of “ultra-tough material” and a 24.6-foot cable. Boasting a waterproof rating of IP54, it can be permanently installed indoors or outdoors. The body of the charger is designed so that the cable can be wrapped around it, and there’s a charging plug holster, so the cable can be neatly stowed when not in use.

The AxFAST 3202 can also be used as a portable charger – it weighs 12 pounds, and comes with a fabric carrying case. It plugs into a NEMA 14-50 outlet, and doesn’t come with adapters for any other types of AC plug, so if you’re going to use it as a portable unit to carry in the car, you’ll want to buy a set of adapters, such as the ones sold by EVannex.

The AxFAST 3202 is not UL-certified, which may be a concern.

It has a list price of $549.99, and is sold through retailers including Best Buy, Walmart and Costco.
