Volt Carbon Technologies recently announced the acquisition of the Abamasagi Lake Lithium Project, located northwest of Nakina, Ontario.
The company registered a total of 150 mining claim cells covering a total area of 3,100 hectares. The Ontario Ministry of Northern Development has recommended the area as a “grassroots exploration property” for lithium, based on lake sediment anomalies, and has also recommended that the area be prospected for potential rare-element mineralization.
With the addition of these mining claims, Volt Carbon has added claims with potential critical rare earth minerals that could be used to build batteries at its Solid Ultrabattery plant in Guelph, Ontario. The new claims are within 200 km northwest of its Manitouwadge Graphite Project. The company says the close proximity of the two properties will enable it to better manage and combine its exploration resources. Volt plans to further explore the property in 2023.
