Volvo Trucks has received an order for 100 electric trucks from Copenhagen-headquartered logistics company DFDS. The order will increase the company’s total of Volvo heavy-duty electric trucks to 225.
Of the 125 heavy trucks previously ordered from Volvo, 95 are currently operating in Sweden, Denmark, Lithuania, Belgium and the Netherlands, and 30 are to be delivered during 2024. The newly ordered trucks are the updated and more energy-efficient models of the Volvo FH Electric and FM Electric models. They will be deployed in nine European markets, including the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium and Sweden.
“The big increase in DFDS’s electric truck fleet shows that zero-emissions transport is a viable solution here and now,” said Volvo Trucks President Roger Alm.
