Siemens selects site for second US EVSE manufacturing hub

Siemens eMobility has announced plans to establish its second US EVSE manufacturing hub in Carrollton, Texas. Siemens is retrofitting the existing 80,000-square-foot plant, which will serve as the manufacturing site for the company’s new VersiCharge Blue, a Buy American-compliant Level 2 AC charger specifically designed for the US market.

Siemens expects the plant to be fully operational by mid-2023. The company develops and manufactures EVSE at a network of US locations, including Grand Prairie, Texas, Southaven, Mississippi, Wendell, North Carolina, Peachtree Corners, Georgia, Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Pomona, California.

“In the next decade, the US will need millions of chargers. With this investment, Siemens is continuing to grow our US EV charging manufacturing footprint to help answer this call and continue preparing the nation’s infrastructure,” said John DeBoer, head of Siemens eMobility North America. “We’re committed to bringing production closer to where it’s needed so we can meet the growing demand for EV chargers quickly while also creating high-skilled, quality manufacturing jobs and supporting regional supply chains.”
