British EV-maker Arrival plans to establish its North American headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. The company will add 150 new employees and invest $3 million in its new office complex in the trendy South End neighborhood.
Arrival was founded in 2015, and has over 1,300 employees at sites in the UK, US, Germany, Netherlands, Israel, Russia and Luxembourg. Earlier this year, the company garnered a lot of press interest for securing an order for 10,000 electric delivery vans from UPS, as well as €100 million in investment from Hyundai/Kia.
Arrival’s approach to the design and assembly of EVs relies on low-cost, rapidly scalable “Microfactories,” combined with proprietary in-house-developed components, materials and software. The company’s first two Microfactories will be located in South Carolina and Bicester, UK.
In planning its new headquarters facility, Arrival worked closely with the City of Charlotte, as well as several regional economic development agencies and local utility Duke Energy.
Arrival is now hiring for a variety of corporate positions, including human resources, marketing, finance, and administrative professionals.
