Dutch developer of maritime battery systems EST-Floattech has received an investment of €3 million from Energy Transition Fund Rotterdam and a joint investment of €1 million from existing shareholders Rotterdam Port Fund, PDENH, Ponooc and Yard Energy.
The investment will allow the company to continue growing nationally and internationally.
EST-Floattech develops and produces lithium-ion battery systems for electric and hybrid propulsion of inland vessels, ferries, yachts, and more. The company also plans to focus on supplying larger vessels in the future.
EST’s battery management system monitors charge status, discharge status, temperature and other parameters to ensure efficient and safe battery operation.
The company has Rotterdam customers that include shipbuilding company Damen and towage and maritime company KOTUG.
EST-Floattech is working with Dutch partners for the aluminum housing, insulation material, electronic components, and the racks in which the battery cells are installed.
