ClipperCreek’s new Dual Charging Station charges 2 EVs at once

EVSE manufacturer ClipperCreek has announced a new dual EV charging station solution. The HCS-D40 is a 32-amp, 7.7 kW Level 2 hardwired station that can charge two vehicles simultaneously. It installs onto a single dedicated 40-amp circuit, and automatically splits power between two vehicles based on their requests for power. It provides up to 16 amps each when both vehicles are charging and up to 32 amps when one is charging.

The HCS-D40 comes with two SAE-J1772 universal connectors, 25-foot charging cables and a rugged, fully sealed NEMA 4 enclosure. The connectors accommodate a specially sized padlock for security (included). The station is backed by a 3-year warranty.

The HCS-D40 comes ready for wall-mount installation, or can be mounted on one of several free-standing pedestal options. Up to four HCS-D40s can be mounted on a pedestal, allowing the charging of up to 8 vehicles per pedestal. “This dual station saves valuable space and electrical capacity for parking facilities,” said ClipperCreek’s Erik Mason.

“The dual station gives property owners an opportunity to offer double the number of charging spaces they would otherwise be able to support, and does so affordably,” said ClipperCreek President and founder Jason France.

ClipperCreek is making it easy to “Trade-UP” to the new HCS-D40. For a limited time, existing customers who purchase the HCS Dual charging station can sell their used HCS-40 or HCS-40P back to ClipperCreek for $250. The new HCS-D40 mounts to the same bolt pattern and utilizes the same service.

“This is a tremendous value for our customers and also supports ClipperCreek’s reduce/re-use/recycle initiative, said Amanda Lance, ClipperCreek’s Inside Sales Manager.

The ClipperCreek HCS-D40 dual charging station is available for $1,349.
