Food distributor Bidfood Netherlands operates a fleet of 25 Renault electric vehicles. Now, the company has ordered 25 more. The new e-trucks will be delivered by the end of the current year.
Renault Trucks has been building medium-duty electric trucks (from 16 to 26 tonnes) since 2020 at its factory in Blainville-sur-Orne, France. The facility recently celebrated the production of its 2,000th electric truck.
“For three years, we have worked closely with Bidfood to integrate electric vehicles into their fleet and address the operational challenges of their logistics,” explained Jérôme Berthelet, Managing Director of Renault Trucks Netherlands. “This collaboration has enabled us to develop customized solutions aligned with their constraints and decarbonization ambitions.”
“These tangible results show that electromobility is not a distant ambition but an operational and effective reality,” said Dick Slootweg, Managing Director of Bidfood Netherlands. “It allows us to reduce our environmental footprint while meeting our customers’ growing expectations for sustainability.”
