Rexel Energy Solutions, a company that specializes in producing EV chargers and smart building controls, and ChargeLab, a provider of hardware-agnostic software that manages EV chargers, are working together to help Canadian businesses install more EV chargers.
The two firms are partnering to offer a service to assist eligible companies in securing grant funding to cover up to 50% of their purchase and installation costs for EV chargers through the government’s Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP).
ZEVIP, which is offered by Natural Resources Canada, provides funding for the deployment of EV chargers and hydrogen refueling stations across Canada.
The new service includes consultation, EV charging hardware selection and expert responses to ZEVIP application questions, Rexel Energy Solutions said. Chargers available through the program include products from ABB, Zerova and Wallbox, which are all compatible with ChargeLab’s network management services.
Natural Resources Canada is the department of the Government of Canada responsible for natural resources and energy. Neither RES nor ChargeLab is a delivery agent for Natural Resources Canada and neither can influence the ZEVIP selection process, the two firms emphasized in announcing the new service.
