Bollinger Motors counts down to September start of production for new B4 electric truck

Bollinger Motors, a US manufacturer of all-electric commercial chassis cab trucks, has announced it plans to start production of the Bollinger B4 on September 16, 2024.

The B4 is a chassis cab electric truck. Thus far only pre-production evaluation vehicles have been manufactured but, in a few weeks, saleable B4 trucks will be coming down the production line, and deliveries are slated to begin the following month.

The Bollinger B4 Chassis Cab utilizes a cab-forward design that increases both overall cargo space behind the cab and downward visibility in front. The B4 was designed to be custom-configured by fleet operators to meet their exact duty cycle requirements. All drivetrain components are safely packaged inside the vehicle’s frame rails and the B4 can accept Level 2 or DC fast charging.

Roush Industries, a contract manufacturer with a plant in Livonia, Michigan, was Bollinger’s vehicle assembly partner for the pre-production B4s, and will continue to make the production models as well.

Bollinger, which is majority-owned by Mullen Automotive, is champing at the bit to get the B4s on America’s highways, and its recent qualification for federal clean vehicle tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act, which will amount to $40,000 per vehicle for the B4 Chassis Cab, can only further that goal.

“We cannot wait to get the B4 on the road, electrifying America’s fleets,” said Jim Connelly, the company’s Chief Revenue Officer.
