ChargePoint Home residential EV charger goes on sale

ChargePoint Home 660

ChargePoint is the champion of public charging, with over 23,800 charging spots in North America, and an impressive attach rate among new plug-in vehicle buyers.

The company has set its sights on the residential market (Charged discussed the details with CEO Pasquale Romano in our January/February issue), and its new line of ChargePoint Home chargers is now available on Amazon.

ChargePoint Home boasts a bundle of connectivity features. The station can upgrade its software automatically, and drivers can schedule charging remotely with the ChargePoint mobile app. ChargePoint Home can be integrated with Nest home electronics products to track energy usage, and customers can view all residential, public and workplace charging with their ChargePoint account.

ChargePoint Home is available in two power levels: the 32-amp station can deliver a maximum of 25 miles of range per hour, and the 16-amp model can deliver 12. Both are available in plug-in or hardwired versions.

Prices range from $499 for a 16-amp hardwired station with a 12-foot cord to $749 for a 32-amp plug-in station with a 25-foot cord.

“Customers choose our stations for their reliability, connectivity and convenience,” said ChargePoint CEO Pasquale Romano. “Now, EV drivers can access the power of ChargePoint from their own home. This station is unlike any other on the market, and it will change the way people think about driving, home charging and smart energy management.”
