adi Vehicle Charging Solutions installs EV charging infrastructure for a global auto OEM

adi Vehicle Charging Solutions (VCS) has completed a major EV charging infrastructure upgrade for “a leading global car manufacturer.”

adi VCS acted as principal contractor on the project, overseeing design, installation, testing and commissioning.

The project included a new 2.5 MVA substation, upgrades to the high- and low-voltage network, fifty-eight 22 kW Level 2 charge points, five 400 kW DC chargers and a site-wide load management system.

The infrastructure was installed at a busy manufacturing site where live production was taking place. VCS had to sequence the work carefully to avoid disruption, working around frequent vehicle movements.

“Trenching, lifts and other intrusive works were delivered around the client’s operations so the facility could keep manufacturing,” said Robert Byrne, Operations Director at adi Vehicle Charging Solutions. “This delivery shows that large infrastructure upgrades can be done safely and with minimal disruption to production. By combining network upgrades with smart load management, the site now has reliable capacity for high-power DC charging and room to grow.”
