Good grief! Insurance giant MetLife (NYSE: MET) has installed 32 Level 2 charging stations for employee use at 14 of its facilities across 10 states. According to the company, this is the largest number of stations of any non-EV industry company currently participating in the DOE’s Workplace Charging Challenge.

“MetLife has a broad and deep commitment to sustainable business practices,” said Senior VP Joseph Sprouls. “Not only are we putting a stake in the ground through this innovative green initiative, but we’re also encouraging our employees to do the same by giving them the alternative mode of transportation for their commute to work.”

The program has inspired at least one employee to buy an EV. “I never considered buying an electric car until MetLife offered this unique program,” said MetLife associate Sean Asure. “There are a lot of misconceptions with an electric car, but once I purchased the vehicle and started charging it at work, I immediately realized the benefits of a more cost-effective commute.”

Each of the GE charging stations is branded with a MetLife logo and a picture of Snoopy.
