Tellus Power builds EV chargers in California. The company offers DC fast chargers in 180 kW and 360 kW versions, with a choice of CCS, CHAdeMO and/or NACS connectors.
The company has just announced a big win in its home state. In July, the California Energy Commission proposed $36.88 million in awards in the state’s second round of National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program funding. This round will support up to 65 EV fast charging sites across the state, and some 33 of these sites are expected to use Tellus Power charging hardware.
The NEVI program has been a political football. In February, the US Department of Transportation suspended the NEVI Formula Program, and rescinded prior approval of states’ spending plans. Recently, after some battles in court, the DOT unveiled revised guidance for the program, and it now appears that some or all of the NEVI Formula projects in the pipeline can proceed.
“We are proud to have the opportunity to provide our partner with fast, reliable EV chargers for the state of California,” said Tellus CEO Mike Calise. “As states push forward with NEVI implementation, we’re excited at the potential to play a key role in enabling this national transition to electric transportation infrastructure.”
