Commercial EV builder Proterra (NASDAQ: PTRA) has announced a multi-year battery supply agreement with The Shyft Group. Proterra will supply its battery technology to power Shyft’s Blue Arc purpose-built electric delivery van and EV chassis.

The Blue Arc delivery van is a battery-electric Class 3 commercial delivery vehicle designed for high-frequency, last-mile delivery fleets. The Blue Arc electric chassis is designed to be highly configurable, and adaptable to last-mile delivery, work truck, mass transit, recreational vehicle, and other vehicle applications. Production of the first Blue Arc delivery vans is expected to begin by mid-2023.

Proterra’s compact H-Series battery system is designed to be packaged between truck frame rails. It will provide the Blue Arc electric delivery van with an approximate range of 150 to 175 miles, which can be increased through expanded battery options.
