ECOtality, Inc. (Nasdaq: ECTY) announced this week that it has delivered one million residential EV charge events with its Blink Chargers.
San Francisco-based ECOtality is the project manager of The EV Project, a public-private research initiative that’s gathering data that will be used to support the deployment America’s EV infrastructure. To date, the project has gathered more than 40 million miles of EV driver data (and, by the way, saved over 1.70 million gallons of gas).
In addition to its wall-mount Level 2 home chargers, the company has a network of public chargers across several states.
"Through the data recorded on Blink chargers for The EV Project, we have clearly demonstrated the viability of this marketplace and continued growth of EV's across the nation," said CEO Ravi Brar. "Recording more than 1 million charge events is not only an iconic milestone for ECOtality, The EV Project and the industry, but is also proof that EVs are here to stay."
