Multifamily EV charging solution SWTCH Cortex earns UL certification

SWTCH Energy, a provider of EV charging for multifamily and commercial properties, has achieved UL Certification for its SWTCH Cortex energy management system. UL Certification is widely considered the gold standard for adherence to electrical safety standards and regulatory compliance safety compliance.

SWTCH Cortex has already achieved OCPP certification and SOC II security certification.

SWTCH Cortex is designed to enable property owners to install any number of EV charging stations without the prohibitive costs, disruption and delays typically associated with electrical service upgrades.

SWTCH Cortex can utilize the full capacity of existing electrical infrastructure while intelligently distributing available electricity based on vehicle charge states. It integrates with building systems, including HVAC, to monitor real-time energy consumption, and uses an onsite computing system for second-by-second power delivery adjustments.

“SWTCH Cortex fundamentally changes the equation for property owners,” said Jing Guo, Head of Product at SWTCH. “Whether a building is 5 years old or 50, whether they need 10 chargers or 100, our solution delivers a frictionless path to comprehensive EV charging without electrical upgrades or compromises. Our UL Certification should facilitate swift and smooth approvals and installation so properties can electrify without delay.”
