Keysight introduces analyzer for wide-bandgap power modules

Test and measurement technology company Keysight Technologies has introduced a new analyzer for power modules.

Expanding on the PD1500A for analyzing semiconductors, the new PD1550A Advanced Dynamic Power Device Analyzer is a Double-Pulse Tester that’s able to test wide-bandgap power modules up to 1,360 V and up to 1,000 A. It uses True Pulse Isolated Probe Technology to gather accurate gate voltage characteristics and relies on high-bandwidth RF compensation to provide accurate high-current measurement. The company says the product can “deliver faster, more insightful testing and accelerate time to market.”

The PD1550A’s interface board has solderless contacts and exchangeable gate resistor technologies. Keysight says the system can be tailored to customer needs, including the pin and pad layouts.

“The new PD1550A expands our offering into whole power module testing, which is used in high-power converter designs, while maintaining ease-of-use and compliance to worldwide safety regulations,” said Keysight VP Thomas Goetzl.
