EV tire-maker ENSO in talks to supply multiple global OEMs

London-based EV tire manufacturer ENSO said it is in discussions with multiple international carmakers and has begun trials with major fleet operators.

ENSO makes tires specifically designed for EVs—they’re designed not only to extend range, but to reduce particulate emissions.

The company says its tires have earned top energy efficiency ratings in Germany, and that last year, they set a world record for hypermiling, extending the range of an unmodified Renault Zoe by 50 miles (12%) compared to standard OEM tires.

ENSO is working with Transport for London, DPD and Royal Mail to deploy its tires in last-mile EV delivery fleets in the UK capital.

Fleet operator Zeti has begun fitting ENSO’s tires to more than 100 of its LEVC TX London black cabs. Zeti leases EVs from Jaguar, LEVC and Tesla to fleets on a cost-per-mile basis. Taxi drivers using the ENSO tires will pay no up-front costs, but instead pay a subscription fee of around one pence per mile.
