ADS-TEC Energy and MVV to deploy battery-buffered DC fast chargers at German retail sites

ADS-TEC Energy will deploy over 30 of its ChargePost and ChargeBox battery-buffered fast EV charging stations, with charging capacities of up to 320 kW, at retail group Müller locations throughout Germany.

ADS-TEC Energy’s ChargePost systems feature high-resolution 75-inch screens, which will be used for advertising (Digital Out-of-Home, or DOOH).

“The roll-out of an efficient charging infrastructure requires innovative approaches that go beyond mere EV charging,” says Michael Rudloff, COO of ADS-TEC Energy. “Our battery-based fast charging solutions enable ultra-fast charging even at locations with limited grid capacity.”

Müller operates some 950 stores in in Germany and seven other countries across Europe. By executing this project, the retail group Müller will fulfill the requirements of the German Act on Electric Mobility Infrastructure in Buildings (Gebäude-Elektromobilitätsinfrastruktur-Gesetz, GEIG), which mandates the expansion of charging infrastructure at certain sites.

Mannheim-based energy company MVV will be responsible for the financing, construction and operation of the charging stations, and for customer service. “We are gradually expanding the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles throughout the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and beyond. We now operate over 156 locations with more than 440 charging points,” said Ralf Klöpfer, Chief Sales Officer at MVV.
