Skellefteå Kraft, one of Sweden’s largest electricity producers, has reached an exclusive agreement to supply 100% renewable electricity to Tesla’s Swedish Supercharger network. The utility will also offer its Tesla-driving customers a discount on their electric bills.

Skellefteå Kraft currently supplies electricity to 14 Tesla charging locations in Sweden.

“Skellefteå Kraft is the first energy company we choose to collaborate with in this way,” says Tesla Director of Nordic Sales Peter Bardenfleth-Hansen. “With this agreement, our Swedish customers can enjoy environmentally friendly electricity free of charge, whilst we at Tesla look forward to our first energy company partnership that can serve as a role model for how to build sustainable partnerships in the future.”

“Tesla’s brand represents values such as zero emission, progression and sustainability,” said Christoffer Svanberg, Chief Commercial Officer, Skellefteå Kraft. “[The agreement] supports our vision to become a nationwide energy company.”
