NRG eVgo installs 60 workplace charging stations for Sony Pictures

NRG eVgo has installed what it says is the largest corporate deployment of EV charging stations in Southern California – 60 Level 2 workplace charging stations at Sony Pictures Entertainment’s historic facility in Culver City.

eVgo’s Ready for Electric Vehicle (REV) program provides workplaces with turnkey EV charging solutions, providing charger maintenance and driver support.

“Working with SPE, an iconic brand in entertainment and technology, demonstrates that EV charging at work is no longer a novelty – it is a necessity for the best employers.” said eVgo VP Terry O’Day. “NRG eVgo stands ready to partner with other companies like SPE that are committed to making a difference for their employees, their community and our environment.”

Beginning in 2008, SPE began offering incentives for employees who buy electrified vehicles. To date, over 300 employees have taken advantage of the program. Each day, an average of 90 EV and PHEVs can be seen parked at the studio’s headquarters.

“The studio is always looking for ways to empower our employees to be sustainable both at home and at work,” said SPE Senior VP Craig Schwartz. “Thanks in part to [our incentive program], demand for EV charging infrastructure was high and increasing. Our partnership with NRG eVgo has been critical in helping our employees choose these eco-friendly vehicles with the confidence of access to charging at work.”
