Sequoia Equities, a major manager of multifamily properties on the West Coast, has partnered with NRG eVgo to provide EV charging to 28 apartment communities across California.
Knowing that EV charging can influence a consumer’s choice of a place to live, Sequoia has selected eVgo’s Ready for Electric Vehicle (REV) program, a solution intended to meet the needs of apartment residents. Each Level 2 charger is assigned to a single driver for their personal use, eliminating the inconvenience of shared chargers.
Through the REV program, eVgo provides the charging equipment at no cost to an apartment property, handles installation and maintenance, reimburses electricity costs and provides charging plans to residents.
“The REV program makes it easy for residents living in apartment communities to choose to drive an EV while eliminating operating costs, management and maintenance burdens for the property owner,” said eVgo VP Terry O’Day.
“The installation of charging stations at 28 of our properties reinforces Sequoia’s dedication to sustainability while providing our residents with cutting-edge amenities and convenience,” said Sequoia Senior VP Cynthia M. McSherry. “We saw the REV program as way to address a need for residents, while appealing to the cleantech movement that continues to grow in California.”
