Evatran teams up with Sears to install wireless charging stations

Sears Home Services announced today that it will offer installation of Evatran’s Plugless Power systems to both residential and commercial customers.

Dishwashers, garbage disposals and…wireless electric vehicle chargers? Sears Home Services announced today that it will offer installation of Evatran’s Plugless Power systems to both residential and commercial customers.

Sears installation technicians will be trained and certified on the wireless EV chargers, and will begin installing them in 2012. Plugless Power now works with the Volt and Leaf, but will be offered for other EV models as they come on the market.

Plugless Power will be available as a dealer option on new EVs or as a retrofit. The system is designed to make charging hands- and hassle-free. You simply park your EV over a pad mounted on the driveway, and charging starts and stops automatically. Charging time is about the same as with a corded system.

“This agreement allows Evatran to deliver on our vision of enabling electric vehicle adoption through the continued focus on making our customers' lives easier,” said Evatran CFO Timothy Briggs. “With each Plugless Power system purchase, our customers can feel confident they will receive timely service and quality workmanship from a company they have trusted with their home installations for years.”
